Mistakes are a good thing | 30 July | Bon Jovi 27 July 1995, Burgettstown (Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania | Coca-Cola Star Lake Amphitheatre

Welcome to this renewed and rebooted daily Bon Jovi blog!
Since yesterday, this is also the complementary blog for  #dailybonjoviyoga on YouTube.

Every day you get:
(1) a story
Ranging from anywhere between
– a 2000 word blogpost, lavishly wrapped under, over and around, all things yoga and Bon Jovi;
– to refreshingly missing!

The blog is always three parts, with the story as the closer, at the bottom of this post.

Today’s post is called Mistakes are a good thing.
Which is the fourth title…. I changed it up over the course of today.

I’m sure I will make a good story out of it, but mostly this title is chosen because it is what I need to hear myself, today.
And maybe that is reason enough:
Mistakes are a good thing, because if we label them anything else, it freezes you, and it keeps you from doing in this life, what you came here to do.
If you do anything else but embrace your mistakes, they have the power to break you.

And next to the story, every post also brings you:
(2) a Bon Jovi concert, a soundtrack for today
Which is then also added to the YouTube playlist
Bon Jovi concerts on this day

+
(3) a yoga practice you can do, based on the day of the week.
Pulled straight from day-by-day Rock Star Yoga/ #dailybonjoviyoga blueprint
And yesterday I ve also picked up yoga for YouTube!!

So today is July 30!
Let’s dive in: What is the yoga for today?
What is the Bon Jovi concert or concerts, on this day?

🧘🏽🤘🏽#dailybonjoviyoga

As of yesterday, there are 3 different options, which firstly in helicopter view are:

option 1.
do yoga on your own, themed day by day

This is the only option where you get a “freestyle” (do yoga on your own) option, which means you can do yoga with Bon Jovi music.
The two other options are guided practices only.
Which would be hard to follow along, if you have Someday I’ll Be Saturday Night blasting through your speakers simultaneously.

option 2.
pick one of the programs

option 3.
New! Do yoga with me on YouTube, or get inspired by my other yoga plans today, if I know I won’t be creating a new video.

Three options to kickstart, reboot or rock, your yoga.
Let’s go!

option I:  themed day by day

Every day of the week, the Rock Star Yoga/ #dailybonjoviyoga is themed differently:

Monday: Find What Feels Good
do yoga with:🥤 Yoga with Adriene channel
or playlist 1: 🍭 Yoga with Adriene – selection
or playlist 2:🌱Yoga with Adriene Yoga for New Beginnings
or do hatha yoga with 🚧Slippery When Wet album🚧 or 🏟️Slippery When Wet tour🌎

Tuesday, showtime! New Jersey Syndicate Tour
do yoga with: 🕉️Ashtanga Yoga and  🏹 Rocket Yoga playlist
or freestyle with 🇺🇸New Jersey album🫐🟦 or 🏟️New Jersey Syndicate tour🌎

Wednesday:  🌵🏜️🏍️Santa Fe Day 🦅🏜️🌵
choose a yin yoga/ relaxation video from the yoga playlist
or do relaxing yoga with 🏜️Blaze of Glory album🏍️
OR (new!) do yoga with the live Dry County and Santa Fe playlist!

Thursday, showtime! Keep the Faith/ I ll Sleep When I m Dead Tour
do yoga with: 🌊Shiva Rea playlist
or buy her 1999 double album 2h practice, Yoga Sanctuary
or freestyle with 🛐 Keep the Faith album✝️ or the 🏟️KTF tour🌎

Friday: 🍻 An Evening With Bon Jovi🎤
do yoga with: 💃🏽 Tara Stiles playlist
or do hatha yoga with a few songs from the Cross Road album or An Evening With Bon Jovi

Saturday: Showtime! Cross Road/ These Days Tour
do yoga with: 🌶️ Meghan Currie Playlist.
or freestyle with
🎸These Days album🚑 or the 🏟️ CR/ TD Tour🌎

Sunday: Vintage Yoga
do yoga with: 📺 Playlist Vintage Yoga Videos + tv
or hatha yoga with 1⃣Bon Jovi- Bon Jovi album💘, 🌋Fahrenheit🔥 or concerts 🎛️1984🎴🏮-🦂🦂🦂-1985🌎

Or, choose the fast lane to enlightenment, with Guns N’ Roses Yoga.
Full story here:
->  Free yourself. And have breakfast with the other guests.
| A Day or a Lifetime, of Guns N’ Roses Yoga

💀🌹🎸  Guns N’Roses Yoga
do yoga with: 🕉️Ashtanga Yoga and  🏹 Rocket Yoga playlist
or freestyle with a 💀🌹🎸 Guns N’ Roses album,
or a concert, for example: 💀🌹🎸 Guns N’ Roses – Paris 06.06.1992
Or my playlist: Guns N’ Roses Groningen 2022 06 23

.

option II: week & month program

Dive in with the above schedule, or pick one of the two programs, which are designed in the same Monday to Sunday rhythm. So for example, every Saturday you’d get a Meghan Currie video:

4 Week Program (15-30 minute videos)
🕉 🎬 yoga playlist:
Rock Your Yoga: 4 Week Program {❤️🤍💙 est. July 4th, 2022}

Monthly playlist, with practices from 15-30 minutes.

Week Program (1 hour videos)
🕉 🎬yoga playlist: 7 Day Yoga Schedule | 1 Hour per day
Ongoing 7 day playlist, with practices of one hour.

Individual videos may be replaced when the original drops out or a better alternative is available, but the lists have a permanent status and you can count on them to stay up.

option III:  Do Yoga With Me
(reboot yoga channels)

Yesterday was my long awaited return to the mat, as I decided to move my yoga from a personal practice (which I wasn’t doing anyway) to in front of the camera.

We all have other things to do during the day, right?
And in my case, I’ve realized I need the connection of creating for YouTube, more than I need introspection and solitude.

Being a writer, I’m already maxing out in the introspection and solitude department.
And don’t we all crave for connection at the end of the day?
This is your open invitation to join me and other Bon Jovi fans, on the mat.

Advanced practitioner/ Teacher Notes { Saturday}

Since it is Saturday, the yoga video I make will be inspired by 🌶️ Meghan Currie.
Click the link to practice directly with a playlist with Meghan Curry videos.

I will be using my teacher’s manual:
In 2017-2018 I created an art project Het Yogaboek van Liefdeseend, that included 10 months worth of teaching schedules (link to my Dutch page with those schedules).
One block of classes was Meghan Currie inspired, and I will use those schedules to make today’s yoga videos.

The concert part!
What concerts were played on July 30?

🗓️🎶🎸Bon Jovi July 30.

Bon Jovi 1995 07 27 Burgettstown photo @jane_jbj on twitter

There are no pre-1997 concerts recording for July 30;
But there is one from the 27th!

🏟️ Cross Road/ These Days Tour
27 July 1995, Burgettstown, Pennsylvania 🇺🇸
Coca-Cola Star Lake Amphitheatre

YouTube upload by hAnD90:
Bon Jovi | Live at Coca-Cola Starlake Amphitheatre | Complete Version | Burgettstown 1995
(new link, original upload was replaced with a better remaster at 13 August 22 )

1995 07 27 Bon Jovi played at Burgettstown Star Lake Amphitheater

The recording is on YouTube multiple times, but was always labeled as “Pittsburgh”, not Burgettstown.
Burgettstown is a district in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.

YouTube channel hAnD90 remastered the video and audio, and writes about this concert*:
“I’d actually go as far as saying that the summer/fall of 1995 was the band’s best in their career.
There still was some of that youthful energy and hunger left, but they were really refined and matured in terms of playing and it all slotted into gear. “

*This was in the description box of the original upload. Not the improved one of the complete concert.

Therefor:

27 July 1995, Burgettstown, PA🇺🇸
Bon Jovi | Live at Coca-Cola Starlake Amphitheatre | Complete Version | Burgettstown 1995

is the soundtrack for today

Mistakes are a good thing

👩🏼‍💻 the story July 30

Jon correcting his mistake at the Burgettstown/ Pittsburgh concert 1995. Click for video.

In today’s concert, Jon Bon Jovi starts singing the first verse from These Days, twice.
I had not noticed it when I listened to the Burgettstown recording, but when I started searching for the uploads that were under the banner “Bon Jovi Pittsburgh 1995”, one of the videos that came up was These Days, as a single recording.
And the description box, mentioned the mistake.

The 1995 Bon Jovi concert in Burgettstown, was on YouTube long before hAnD90’s the 2020 (and renewed 2022) upload.
It was just called differently, and labeled “Pittsburgh”.
After the metropolitan area of Burgettstown, and also after the way Jon Bon Jovi addresses the crowd.

Which is not technically a mistake, but it did remind me of the final post of my first 30 day stint on this blog.
It ended July 10, with a giant mistake in the title, where I mixed up Middletown New Jersey with Middletown California.
I m certain it contributed to me dropping out of writing these already time consuming blog posts.

I saw how unrewarding it was: That I was putting in my heart and soul, but that the most time consuming and frustrating factor, the factor that would always bite me in the ass if I tried to short cut writing this blog, was one of geography.

I m pretty sure I dropped out because I was ready to commit to writing about Bon Jovi everyday.
However, what I was not ready to commit to, was to deciphering American towns, boroughs, states, and allocate double locations to their correct state.
That, I was not committed to.

So I dropped out.

And maybe the Pittsburgh/ Burgettstown situation from today’s concert, reminded me that THIS is what I m in for.
That this blog will always entail geographical and historical fact checking, and deciphering. Something that does not necessarily show in the result, but if I FAIL to do it?
And it shows up the way Middletown, New Jersey and Orange County California were mixed up?
If I fail to do it, I will no longer be able to stand the post.
And may drop out.

So I have no choice but to accept that if I want to stay motivated to write this blog, then looking up the location, and trace it back to its origins until I know without a doubt, I have an understanding where it is, and where it is not;
Is part of my work.

But also: That THAT is the benchmark of mastery.

Mastery is NOT  writing a daily blogpost.
Mastery is NOT knowing how to make a remastered Burgettstown recording, which after two days of giving it your all, is suddenly a joy to listen to, when all that came before you were not.
Mastery is how you handle the extra things, that you would never be able to tackle, if you still needed all your mental bandwidth for the work itself.

And that’s when I suddenly understood, why I was so convinced hAnD90 was great at what he does.
Even though I consider myself musically illiterate, and have therefor no technical understanding of the work.
I know it because he researches and dives in the history of the recording, and thinks about the context of it.
That’s how I know he has full mastership over the technical process, because otherwise he would not even bother, and just copy locations and dates.

And now I can see why making mistakes and being upset by that is ALWAYS a good thing.
Because it reveals ambition.

It reveals you want more of yourself in that area, and that in itself is a good thing.
You may not get it for free, in fact it would be a real surprise if you did! But your pain is more in not admitting to yourself, that you are ambitious in this area.
That despite your flaws, the unfamiliarity or your history, you STILL want to do better in that area of your life.
Maybe even achieve mastership!
Admitting that,
takes balls.

And that is why making a mistake, and being annoyed by it, is always good.
Because it reveals there is a part of you, that understands you can do better. And wants to, do better.

It is the part of you, that flat out refuses to settle for mediocre and average.

And that part, is something to cherish.
Because it will turn you into a master, one day.
