Not Middletown New Jersey.
Making this whole post irrelevant to this gig.

However- Middletown New Jersey does exist, and the home of Jon Bon Jovi was for sale there.
My apologies, for today’s topographical inconsistencies.

Nothing “middle” town about it

👩🏼‍💻 the story July 9

I usually try to find a photo of the concert that is today’s soundtrack.
This serves multiple purposes, but the main one, and the reason that at a bold and fed-up point in this series I stated that NO CONCERT would be chosen as soundtrack of the day unless they had a proper photo to go with it,
is that I want to see at first glance, what photos will go with the blogpost.

So, IF Middletown 1989 had a concert ticket jpeg, or a photo taken at the concert, which it doesn’t, but IF;
Then it would be filed under
Bon Jovi 1989 07 09
And I would be able to find it there when I post this to social media.

But if I start using other files to go with this post, that are not dated on that day, then I have to scroll through my downloads, wondering how I named the file, or even which file or photo I used with the blog.
So the moment I divert from the “Bon Jovi [ insert date concert ]” file name?
It’s basically asking for problems, and for having to redo posts on social media because I used the wrong picture.

Today’s the Google search, and Jane on Twitter’s timeline, both didn’t have any pictures of Bon Jovi concert in Middletown at July 9, 1989.
But the Google search did come up with ample pictures and articles for one of Jon Bon Jovi’s houses, which was put on the market about 16 months ago, by Christie’s International Real Estate.

And I found out that first of all, Middletown is NEW JERSEY:
Up until this point I had not noticed the small “nj” that was added, in some of the sources I use for this series.
Meaning playing in Middletown in 1989 meant they were playing “at home”.

And secondly, it meant that Middletown would be the area where Jon Bon Jovi would order to have a house built, ten years later, in 1999.

I researched Middletown, and despite its humble name, there is nothing humble about it!
It’s one of the best places to live, in all of America, and frequently features high up in Best Places to Live lists.

The Wikipedia page, gives its history, dating back to the first colonists, and it has buildings dating back to the 17th century, with fairy tale like names such as:
The Seabrook-Wilson House, Marlpit Hall and the Sandy Hook Lighthouse.

Although there were better, palm-rich photos, from what I think are other houses from Jon Bon Jovi, but I got the impression they were presented and therefor mixed up on multiple websites with the French mansion with its courtyard of stone;
I chose one that is absolutely from the house that is for sale, which is the terrace by the pool, included in this post.

And I will not mix that one up, posting it on social media.
And I will forever remember, that Middletown New Jersey, where Bon Jovi played on July 9th, 1989 and Jon Bon Jovi built a house in 1999;
Is everything, but an average town.
